SecureTether is a reliable mobile WiFi hotspot that allows you to share your mobile internet connection with your computer or Android tablet. It offers a full internet connection without the need for a tethering plan from your mobile carrier. There is no requirement to root your phone or tablet, and no custom software needs to be installed on your computer.

With powerful security features, SecureTether includes a built-in firewall to protect your computer from hackers, monitors incoming and outgoing connections for spyware, and allows you to block websites. The setup is user-friendly, providing easy instructions with screenshots for Windows, Mac OS X, and Android devices.

For optimal performance, the premium version of SecureTether delivers maximum speed by utilizing the full capabilities of WiFi, cell service, and CPU. It also comes with a DNS cache to enhance website loading speeds and reduce data usage.

SecureTether ensures maximum compatibility by supporting internet sharing from Android 4.0.1+ devices to various operating systems such as Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, Mac OS X 10.5+, and even Linux (experimental). Additionally, the port forwarding feature enables smooth streaming, gaming, VoIP, and other software functionalities.

It is essential to note that SecureTether does not support devices like Xbox, PlayStation, or Roku directly due to limitations in VPN and proxy support. However, you can connect these devices indirectly through a connected computer using Internet Connection Sharing.

SecureTether utilizes your phone plan's regular data volume and does not require a tethering plan in most cases. The free version offers around 1Mbps transfer rate after a three-week unlimited-speed trial, which can be upgraded through an in-app purchase.

For Android devices requiring v4.1.1+ (Jelly Bean or newer), as simultaneous operation of WiFi and WiFi Direct is not supported in Android v4.0.x (Ice Cream Sandwich). Computer configuration is necessary but can be done using default tools provided by Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux.

Android client devices must download a small client app (less than 0.5 MB) from SecureTether hotspot for installation convenience.
